Pros

Emory is unique in that it is very concerned with replacing employees within the system when business requirements force a reduction in staff. Emory attempts to place employees elsewhere in the organization. Emory also tries not to layoff employees before other avenues are explored. Jobs are very secure.

Cons

Lack of upward movement with in the company. Few opportunities exist and development of employees is a clear weakness. Many managers do not recognize their employees work. They instead claim the output for themselves.

Pros

Strong belief in the medical care provided to patients. Doctors are extremely competent and care about their work. The benefits are pretty decent.

Cons

Majority of all employees are over worked! There aren't enough employees to get the work done so everyone is ALWAYS running around crazy to get things done. The culture itself is dysfunctional. Emory Healthcare as a whole doesn't believe in flex work schedules so working from home, working 4 10-hour days, etc aren't options. The PTO system is the worse of all times. All Holidays and sick days have to come out of the bank of 26 days. It's ridiculous! Don't get sick or your child get sick. If you have no PTO days you won't get paid for the holidays.

Pros

Working Monday-Friday. Health Benefits and vacation time are good. Lots of eateries to pick from during breaks. Beautiful campus. Clinics close after 5:30.

Cons

Poor management. A lot of helicopter managers that don't trust their employees to do their job.in bad weather, management makes you stay after state of emergency has been implemented. Standing all day long when chairs are provided for seating. Constant change in job description. No stability. Very low pay compared to other hospitals. A lot of drama up keeping. Big company but hard to grow. Parking at a garage and having to ride a shuttle to your work station.
