Pros

You're boss isn't standing over you the entire day Pay is alright but is starting to fall behind local competitors Routes are poorly optimized and some drivers end up significantly worse off everyday

Cons

Back breaking work Trucks that's are constantly breaking down or falling apart The improvements they make generally benefit upper management or sales Don't expect anyone to have your back if there's an issue

Pros

There are no pros to working here

Cons

Low commission rate- You can make good money here, but only on a select few sales routes that will be reserved for reps who have been with the company the longest. Careful not to grow your sales territory too much as management will break up your route if you make too much money. Lack of work life balance-Expect to work 10 hour days most of the time and field calls from customers and managers outside of normal business hours. You will be using your personal cell phone for this. Management does not value your time-Management will waste your time with constant pointless meetings that you are not compensated for. You will be asked to use your personal vehicle for deliveries and driving back and forth across your sales territory with no regard to wear and tear on your vehicle or fuel consumption. Must use own vehicle-As stated above, you will be paying out of your own pocket to maintain your vehicle and cover gas. PTO days are nearly impossible to use-Hopefully you know what days you would like to take off at the beginning of the year because the vacation calendar will fill up with requests from other employees (Empire is constantly understaffed) and black out days around the holidays that you can't take off anyway and if you don't use your PTO, you lose it at the end of the year. Word of warning-If you have the misfortune of being employed here please understand that the company as a whole views you solely as grist for the mill. They will gladly grind you into dust to generate more profit for the company president, David Kahn, and the other C-suite executives all the while constantly chipping away at your pay, benefits, and working conditions. Your personal sacrifice and hard work means nothing more to them than a easy payday. This may seem like a harsh criticism, but if you work here currently or have worked here in the past, you know exactly what I'm talking about.
