Horrible Sales Culture - Sales 1Password Employee Review

Pros

Remote work. That’s about it.

Cons

The sales organization is extremely unorganized and toxic. AE’s and BDR’s are constantly pressured to hit unachiveable targets and are guilt tripped into working overtime to try and hit their numbers. 80% of the sales organization is not even close to hitting quotas. Instead of management trying to fix quota, they just increase quota and hire/fire employees whenever they want. Onboarding was also pretty rough. Whenever you ask a question, you’re pointed towards “Guru”. Managers themselves don’t know the answers to your questions. You’re basically just thrown into the fire with no tools to support you. AE’s are expected to prospect but don’t even have access to Zoominfo lol. Account lists change every month and they are not at all fair. Do not work here. It is not worth your mental health at all. Extremely shady company- the worst I’ve ever worked at.

Pros

- Awesome founders when they were involved in the day-to-day - Great benefits

Cons

- Lost a lot of what made this place special during the scale up from 100-1000 employees - Hired a ton of outside leadership which ultimately resulted in a culture shift and many of the people who worked there the longest leaving

Pros

* Flexible working arrangements and quite a bit of autonomy. * A genuinely supportive manager and a collaborative, positive team environment. * Competitive pay for the role and responsibilities.

Cons

In recent years the company has shifted in a direction that feels very different from the organisation I originally joined. * There is a strong emphasis on a “high performance culture”, but there is limited structure or support in place to help employees develop the skills needed to meet those expectations. * Career progression and compensation increases can feel closely tied to visibility rather than the quality or impact of the work itself. * The company is moving away from its fully remote approach. In-person events that were once optional are now mandatory, even for teams that may not directly benefit from them. The locations chosen do not always appear to consider the needs or circumstances of a globally distributed workforce, and employees are now required to go through formal accommodation processes simply to avoid international travel due to health or safety concerns.
