Pros
I actually received pretty good training from my co workers and manager. However, there were many days when I would be left at the front and no one was around to help me. I had to learn a lot from experience and being "thrown to the wolves."
Cons
The workplace was mess. I'm a woman, so I expect at least a clean woman's bathroom. Nope....disgusting and one of the female yard workers smoked while she went to the bathroom. I ended up cleaning that entire store because of how embarrassing it was. The "break area" had old food, spit tunes, crap everywhere. I worked my butt off cleaning and trying to learn my job to the best of my ability. I showed initiative to learn how to read blueprints, yet no one wanted to help me. It seems like everyone wanted to do the bare minimum. I was driving 45 minutes to work everyday and was questioning if I wanted to stay working there. I was very honest with my manager and when I suggested being transferred to a different 84 Lumber, he became very angry with me. I wrote a letter and never went back because I felt uncomfortable. I'm glad that I quit. I learned a lot And caught on quickly, but you are on your feet all day. Manager trainees are not aloud to sit unless on break. My feet and back hurt every day.
