Are you a recent college grad? Do you have less than five years of experience in the workforce? Then Affinipay is for you! Are you a professional with 6+ years in your field who wants competitive compensation and to work with a team of high achievers? Then look elsewhere! I can only use my experience in one department but upper management seems pretty committed to paying their employees as little as possible and backfilling open positions with people who are incredibly underqualified. If you’re not all that motivated you’ll be happy to know that it is VERY difficult to get fired from this company. As long as you manage to meet the absolute bare minimum (or your on a team that has been gaslit into picking up your slack by being convinced its part of saying Yes!) you can coast for literal years. Have a “my way or the highway” attitude? Perfect! At Affinipay issues with lazy and difficult colleagues are actively ignored! Instead everyone is expected to find workarounds while supervisors just ignore the problem. On more than one occasion these employees were rewarded and actually PROMOTED even though they had several complaints filed against them by multiple people. To be fair besides salary the benefits are decent and they do usually pay 100% of your bonus which isn’t always the case with tech companies but a bonus twice a year and a “open” PTO policy don’t make up for a salary that is 30-40% below market for your position. Is Affinipay a terrible company? No. Its definitely not some sort of nightmare with zero good qualities. Most of the people who work there are friendly and a decent percentage are actually talented. Work-life balance is also pretty good. That said it IS a place you should only consider working at if you want to use it as jumping off point for your career (fintech is so hot right now after all) and you’re fine with exchanging a good salary for a predictable work schedule and free snacks. The harsh truth is that Affinipay did really used to be a great place to work no matter where you were in your career. But that is VERY much not the case now.
