Pros

I wish there was one

Cons

***PLEASE READ-IF I COULD GIVE 8x8 NO STARS I WOULD I have not been fond of this company during my time here but I've felt the need to write a review in lieu of what has been going on with the Corona Virus over the past few weeks. You would think that a company that sells a platform that allows you to work from anywhere in the world, specifically your home, would have a positive impact of helping companies stay up and running. Instead I see this company trying to take advantage of the pandemic, trying to peddle their product in any way shape or form to keep their stock from plummeting any further than it actually is. Preaching on social media, mainly Linkedin, about how they are helping people all over the world stay safe during this pandemic by implementing their product. Little do people know outside of 8x8 that a vast majority of the company is still obligated to come into work day in and day out because they made a horrific choice of moving into a new building in which they clearly cannot afford. Practice what you preach is a phrase that everyone is familiar with but instead 8x8 and upper management is making their employees slave away in the office while other companies are implementing a work from home policy for the foreseeable future. Jokes on them when they go bankrupt because Zoom and Slack are a far better platform with more up time and reliability. I am ashamed to work for a company and a CEO who's putting their business, platform and stock price before their employees health. If anyone doesn't think this is real review please look at all the 5 star reviews that seem to be happening on the same exact day trying to cover up the real negative reviews. I wish I wasn't so infuriated because I would go on about the actual day to day work that makes this company the 30+ year old dinosaur that it is. Note to Glassdoor- Please look into this company and reviews

Thank you for your opinion. Our employees, their families and our customers safety is our top priority during these times. Starting March 10th, 2020 we implemented a global work remote plan for one week that was extended just days later as we were monitoring the situation and taking guidance from the CDC and WHO. As of right now, all global employees are mandated to work remotely until April 7, 2020. We will continue to take guidance from the CDC, WHO and our local government officials and extend our program again as necessary to keep everyone safe. I’m proud to say we were out in front of most companies as our APAC offices started their work remote program approximately 5 weeks prior to our other locations. If you truly are a current employee, you would know this and know that it has gone off without a hitch due to the countless hours and dedication from our Business Continuity team and Covid19 task force. I”m truly proud of how our 8x8 family has pulled together not just for ourselves but for our customers and global communities facing some very difficult times. I strongly encourage you (and any employee) to reach out to your HRBP or myself personally to discuss your thoughts about your current situation. As you know, with the products we have created, it’s easy for employee’s and our customers to be as efficient as possible from the safety of their home. 8x8’s goal is to get our product into the hands of as many people as possible. We give them the ability to feel safe but at the same time maintain efficiency in their day to day lives. We are doing that with our meetings platform that can be used FREE of charge so children continue to learn, individuals can continue to worship, families stay in touch, doctors can diagnose or not miss a workout.. Right now it’s about making sure people around us stay safe and help our community return to a sense of normalcy and work as soon as possible. If you have any further comments or concerns like i said, please reach out to your local HRBP or me directly Jim Lawrence, at jim.lawrence@8x8.com. VP Global Talent Acquisition.

Pros

*Good health insurance *Company "mental health" days off *Work/life balance *LinkedIn learning

Cons

*You will have to chase several people through several teams before you actually obtain the assistance you are looking for, however once you get to the right team/person, be prepared to be talked to like you're an annoyance rather than a colleague. A lot of "pass the buck" type of mentality, and "that's not our responsibility" attitude, then discover the people/person you're looking for doesn't work there anymore. *They reduce staff under the guise of "redundancies of the role", when they're really moving the exact role to Philippines or other countries as they can obtain more employees for that same paycheck. *Will hire new staff, have you train them, then reduce the positions within that team after you've trained them. *Upper management will promote not based on merit but nepotism, and it's not a secret but up in your face, and will tell you "its not personal". *They will shove the "we care about our people" culture down your throat, when in fact they DO NOT care about their people, especially the knowledgeable ones, they will eliminate those as soon as possible to get fresh blood in, with no knowledge or expertise, and often in other countries so they can pay them less than here. Truth. *Management is top heavy, always has been, no change in sight for this down the road.
