Pros

Any and all pros (4 day workweek, freedom to move about anywhere within the service area, excellent benefits, fair and just fleet manager) the company did have were quickly removed with the arrival of a new manager trying to make his mark.

Cons

Essentially "light duty fleet service driver" went from exactly that...providing light service for stranded motorist to a high pressure sales job. EVERYTHING is about the numbers and your continued employment relies COMPLETELY on your numbers. Those same metrics used to judge you are set up in a manner that you cannot achieve any of them. This makes all but a select few on the edge of being fired daily. Don't sell enough batteries, AAA's absolute main priority, you are in trouble. Take to long to get to a call, even if it's assigned by dispatch and 30 miles away, you are in trouble...and so on. Immediate supervisors have absolutely no business supervising a trip to the bathroom let alone other human beings. Pay is very, very low considering the risks you take say changing a tire on the highway with traffic passing at 80 mph. Turned into quite possibly the worst job ever. The BEST thing though, when you give your two weeks, they will try to fire you on the spot.

Pros

Opportunities to travel Good training and education Good coworkers and clientele

Cons

Low hourly rate with promises of monthly bonuses which were impossible goals to meet Frequently understaffed with constant interuptions from time wasting calls and walkins making workload unmanageable and not allowed to stay late or take work home Never closing for even a foot of snow Too many mandatory trainings and after hours and weekend client travel events to host Very stressful and disheartening managing. Personally was frequently listed as top 10 sale of the week for whole AAA club Alliance, built a high end repeat clientele booking 20-50k trips with preferred vendors but still wasn't enough to ever qualify for the bonus. More praise and bonuses given to employees who signed more people up for an AAA visa. In 30 years as a travel agent I never had that volume of sales but I was making $18.50/hr. Less money than 20 years previous and got $1.50 total raise after 6 years. Stayed longer than I should've because of awesome appreciative clientele that AAA makes impossible to take with you thanks to signing them all up with AAA CCs which got them $1000s in vouchers to apply.
