      Pros

      Health care, hour flexibility, people easy to get along with.

      Cons

      Pay rate is low in comparison to other freight companies. Vacation time sucks forced sick days so you cant use them as Vacation. Dock is extremely hot or cold and facilities are old. Senority roster impossible to climb and YOU WILL work weekends and nights for a long time before having a chance to change.

      Pros

      Pay is best in the business. $100,000+ first year as a road driver. Year two I made $107,000… and took two months off for cancer surgery. Year three I made $129,000. I average 2-3 nights per week in a hotel. Usually only 1 night out then back home the next day. Frequently running turns (home at end of the run). Insurance is free and EXCELLENT coverage. I paid $1,000 total out-of-pocket for cancer surgery.

      Cons

      Not much life/work balance. Frustrating spending time on the extra board waiting to get a call to go to work, but with more seniority you get less wait time.
