The money was good. Full pension and company-paid benefits.
Cons
If you work as a road driver for ABF, you may as well forget about life outside their trucks. Treat your existence outside your job as a rumor. Oh, and don't get injured. They'll act like they never met you.

Thank you for sharing your experience as an employee at ABF Freight. We understand the role of a driver is hard work and regret ABF Freight didn't meet your expectations. Please email abfhr@freight.abf.com or call 479-785-8717 if you would like to further discuss with Human Resources any concerns or suggestions. Thank you for your service to ABF Freight.
Pay is best in the business. $100,000+ first year as a road driver. Year two I made $107,000… and took two months off for cancer surgery. Year three I made $129,000. I average 2-3 nights per week in a hotel. Usually only 1 night out then back home the next day. Frequently running turns (home at end of the run). Insurance is free and EXCELLENT coverage. I paid $1,000 total out-of-pocket for cancer surgery.
Cons
Not much life/work balance. Frustrating spending time on the extra board waiting to get a call to go to work, but with more seniority you get less wait time.
