Pros

Colleagues are knowledgeable, helpful, talented. ACA makes excellent hiring choices. The work is interesting, involved, and niche. Our services will always be needed and our clients are grateful for our assistance. Benefits are competitive. Lots of PTO, pretty good pay, and so many opportunities to grow. I cannot stress enough that, if you put forth the effort, you will be promoted and you will make money. Work from home option 4 days/week. Work from home one full month anywhere in the world. Lots of free food and fun events. Tons of growth.

Cons

ACA cannot retain employees because ACA thinks that anyone in the firm will do any job they’re told, for any conceivable amount of time, simply because they’re paying them some amount of money. You will work more hours in a week than your colleague. Your colleague will have time to study for tests which must be passed to earn a promotion, but you will not. When it comes time to be promoted, your colleague will get promoted, but you will not, because even though you were working 12-15 hour days for the entire first quarter, you should have found the time to study. And since you didn’t have a spare moment to fill out your time sheet, they will claim that you have no proof that you ever worked at all. Multiple people will be your superior and demand that you finish tasks either before or after normal office hours regularly. Everyone will be in charge of you except for your supervisor. Manipulation and gaslighting are not only common occurrences, they’re a required skill to move to mid or senior level roles. Expect to be told things that are not true about yourself, and expect to have no power to advocate for yourself in response. You will skip meals, sleep, and important life events to work. You will be asked to work even while you are out sick, and punished if you do not.

Pros

For many years, this was a great company to work for. The people, team culture, PTO, and benefits were strong, and the benefits package helped make up for pay that was often average compared to the market. I worked alongside talented colleagues and built relationships that made coming to work enjoyable. There were many positive experiences during my 10+ years with the company.

Cons

Despite frequently emphasizing that "people are our greatest asset," the company has shown little loyalty to long-term employees. After dedicating over a decade of hard work and commitment, I was laid off with no warning. What made the experience even more difficult was seeing numerous open positions posted at the same time long-term employees were being let go. Being laid off after giving the company my best for more than 10 years was disappointing and disheartening. Employees should understand that years of service and dedication do not necessarily provide job security. The company's actions did not align with the values it often promoted
