Pros

Good per hour pay for the required level of experience and covers the expenses related to becoming certified for the position. Generally you get lots of hours, if you have good availability.

Cons

The accreditation exam that the training (when I took it) absolutely does not prepare you for is only covered the time you pass pass, so people who need to take it many times can ended up paying hundreds of dollars for the exam. Only able to change availability twice a year without consequence, generally inflexible hours and cancelation policy. Toxic work environment, I've seen female colleagues blamed for the clothes they wear, being told "it's their fault" that someone is touching them or looking at them inappropriately. I've been told that I shouldn't have curly hair. The core industry of ABA has serious issues, the company and the accreditation board both ban discussions of methods and require employees to praise their heavily controversial methods. To speak generally if those methods were used on someone who wasn't an autistic child they would be considered abusive or at least ableist. The company routinely spreads conspiracy theories like claiming vaccines are a potential causing autism.

Pros

BCBA's and managers were very kind and taught me loads during the sessions.

Cons

I constantly had trouble with scheduling (inconsistent clients, lots of sub work or last minute cancellations, scheduling team hardly ever gave me more cases to work on - instead the BCBA's would come straight to me and ask me if i could pick up shifts).
