Pros

Good sales training, salary beats the Tucson median, first year on-target earnings are between 50-55k, incentive trips, 5% stock purchase plan

Cons

Benefits are pretty weak for how expensive they are. If you apply at the Tucson location and are under 30 years old you’ll work in (SBS) small business sales division, if you’re older than 30 you’ll be downstairs with Majors and Nationals divisions. 3 year vesting period on 401k match. You will not be a top performer here without compromising your ethics. Within SBS you’ll either be on an outbound team or an inbound team. If you’re in outbound you’ll hear many of the reps around you tricking clients calling to “update” their account when really they’re paying for HR services they don’t know they have or telling clients to sign up then cancel so they get sales credit. Inbound is no better, you receive leads from customer service on a round robin queue, but many reps will establish relationships with service reps so they’ll send leads directly to them, going so far as to Venmo reps under the table for their leads. Management is aware of both of these issues but fails to do anything about it. You will have a meeting with your team every morning and the whole office meets once a week, these meetings are to go over numbers and shoutout whoever cheated the most the week prior. No sales coaching takes place in this building, the only coaching that will be given is “dial more.” All the managers are 30ish and were promoted because they did well in a sales role, not because they understand how to manage people. They have a leadership development program which is basically the carrot they dangle to keep people from quitting. The leadership development program is really just there to boost retention because they struggle with high turnover and LDP makes people hang around because they have a 1 in 100 chance of getting promoted.

Pros

- Established company with a long history and relatively stable business operations. - Provides a sense of job stability compared to many organizations navigating rapid changes in the current AI-driven market. - Lower risk of frequent restructuring or large-scale layoffs than many high-growth technology companies. - Opportunity to work with experienced employees who have deep institutional and domain knowledge. - Predictable work environment that may appeal to individuals seeking long-term stability over rapid change. - Strong choice for professionals who value job security and a steady career path in an uncertain economic climate.

Cons

- Documentation is limited or rusted, and many operational processes lack clear runbooks or standardized procedures, making onboarding and troubleshooting more difficult than necessary. - If you're coming from a modern, fast-paced engineering environment, the organization may feel behind current industry practices and tooling. - Internal politics can sometimes outweigh technical merit or execution. - There are teams with very long-tenured employees where change and innovation can be difficult to drive. - Decision-making often involves multiple layers of approval, resulting in significant bureaucracy and slower execution. - Processes can move slowly, and collaboration is not always transparent across teams, leading to inefficiencies and occasional confusion around ownership. - In some areas, roles, responsibilities, and operational processes are not clearly defined, creating unnecessary chaos and inconsistent ways of working. - Engineering standards and best practices vary considerably between teams, making cross-team collaboration challenging. - Organizational change tends to happen slowly, which can be frustrating for employees who are focused on modernization, automation, and continuous improvement.
