Pros

You will meet some cool people, bond over your dislike for the company and all the games they play. Lots to laugh at on a daily basis. A paycheck. Watch leadership fail and flop around daily but constantly tell one another during meetings how amazing they are (comical). Funny to see a lot of lifers here with no willingness to accept other concepts outside of ADP exist and could improve processes/functions/operations because they've been here 10, 15, 20+ years and have the "we've always done it this was since 2001" mindset.

Cons

Wow not sure where to begin with this thesis. Leadership is a mean girls club all the way to the GM and back down to line managers. Way too many unnecessary layers of management. Below market wages which cause monthly turnover from every department. Even before covid people left after 6 to 12 months. Irate clients are allowed to disrespect you ADP does not care what they say as long as they are making money. You are a call center operator. Promotions can be totally random and usually based on favoritism and not skill. If you are not on leaderships good side your career will be stifled, forever, regardless of your performance. Men are treated way better than women. Bonuses and raises are also heavily based on favoritism and not on actual performance. So if you decide to work here make sure management as a whole likes you or you will be screwed indefinitely. Kpis are impossible to keep up with and change frequently with poor communication. If you question anything you will be on the naughty list and the mean girls club will ensure you know it!

Pros

- Established company with a long history and relatively stable business operations. - Provides a sense of job stability compared to many organizations navigating rapid changes in the current AI-driven market. - Lower risk of frequent restructuring or large-scale layoffs than many high-growth technology companies. - Opportunity to work with experienced employees who have deep institutional and domain knowledge. - Predictable work environment that may appeal to individuals seeking long-term stability over rapid change. - Strong choice for professionals who value job security and a steady career path in an uncertain economic climate.

Cons

- Documentation is limited or rusted, and many operational processes lack clear runbooks or standardized procedures, making onboarding and troubleshooting more difficult than necessary. - If you're coming from a modern, fast-paced engineering environment, the organization may feel behind current industry practices and tooling. - Internal politics can sometimes outweigh technical merit or execution. - There are teams with very long-tenured employees where change and innovation can be difficult to drive. - Decision-making often involves multiple layers of approval, resulting in significant bureaucracy and slower execution. - Processes can move slowly, and collaboration is not always transparent across teams, leading to inefficiencies and occasional confusion around ownership. - In some areas, roles, responsibilities, and operational processes are not clearly defined, creating unnecessary chaos and inconsistent ways of working. - Engineering standards and best practices vary considerably between teams, making cross-team collaboration challenging. - Organizational change tends to happen slowly, which can be frustrating for employees who are focused on modernization, automation, and continuous improvement.
