Pros

Work balance, pay, and they feed you a lot.

Cons

Always changing what is needed to learn. Start learning one thing and end up having to change in the middle. Expect people to learn through reading and videos and not hands on. Tell you to have ownership but everyone else in the company passes the buck. Co-workers have filthy mouths while others are on the phone. They bully some people and let the real bully's cuss, so no I am not doing that, talk crape about the clients while others are on the phone. If you do not fit in to their way of lifestyle of partying, drinking, and cussing then they find ways to get ride of you. Others gossip about you things that are not true, yet when you get in trouble for something said, you are not given a chance to defend yourself. You are guilty without explanation. Then they bully and nit pick you so they can let you go. Promise you, you are going permanent to-your-face, then next morning you are given a phone call to not return, mail laptop and told 'don't come on the premises, we will mail your items." Personally I think it is illegal not to let someone clean out their desk and if I had been a permanent employee I would have had a discrimination law suite. Please do not become a contractor for this company. It is hard to get a raise you must get certificates, and take courses or increase your education to get raises.

Pros

Amazingly supportive work culture at all levels. Plenty of opportunities for career growth. You’re always surrounded by brilliant interesting people who are fun to work with. Employees are treated with respect and trust.

Cons

Highly complex organization operating out of 100s of different applications with thousands of employees worldwide. It’s an incredibly difficult organization to navigate within. Also Numerous internal quality checks and some legacy systems can make certain tasks seem unnecessarily cumbersome.

Pros

- Established company with a long history and relatively stable business operations. - Provides a sense of job stability compared to many organizations navigating rapid changes in the current AI-driven market. - Lower risk of frequent restructuring or large-scale layoffs than many high-growth technology companies. - Opportunity to work with experienced employees who have deep institutional and domain knowledge. - Predictable work environment that may appeal to individuals seeking long-term stability over rapid change. - Strong choice for professionals who value job security and a steady career path in an uncertain economic climate.

Cons

- Documentation is limited or rusted, and many operational processes lack clear runbooks or standardized procedures, making onboarding and troubleshooting more difficult than necessary. - If you're coming from a modern, fast-paced engineering environment, the organization may feel behind current industry practices and tooling. - Internal politics can sometimes outweigh technical merit or execution. - There are teams with very long-tenured employees where change and innovation can be difficult to drive. - Decision-making often involves multiple layers of approval, resulting in significant bureaucracy and slower execution. - Processes can move slowly, and collaboration is not always transparent across teams, leading to inefficiencies and occasional confusion around ownership. - In some areas, roles, responsibilities, and operational processes are not clearly defined, creating unnecessary chaos and inconsistent ways of working. - Engineering standards and best practices vary considerably between teams, making cross-team collaboration challenging. - Organizational change tends to happen slowly, which can be frustrating for employees who are focused on modernization, automation, and continuous improvement.
