Pros
Flexible work schedule, location flexibility, amazing iconic projects. Ability to work with really talented professionals/practitioners. Amazing global mobility team- fast, accurate, and caring. Great for junior staff to gain experience.
Cons
Very bureaucratic. Company typically hires leaders externally and avoids promoting from within. Arrogant leadership that refuses to learn from past mistakes. Sloppy employee services- pay checks inaccurate, slow to no response from HR when issues arise. Although there are several amazing HRBP's that are just overworked and have difficulty managing a very heavy workload. Leaders typically make drastic changes without thinking through the decision. AECOM is known to hire senior professionals with no real strategy in place. Often times I would see new hires with a strong track records of success fail due to holes in strategy and financial support for expansion/development. It was like taking great fisherman and throwing them into the sea without a boat or a fishing rod and expect them to bring in massive amounts of fish. Doesn't work. Also, once an employee reaches a mid-level role they typically get stuck. No growth.
