Pros
There is great potential at AECOM. There is an interesting and world class mix of projects - with more iconic engagements than in most firms of AECOM's size. There are strong technical experts and at the staff level a genuine desire to see the firm not just be bigger but better.
Cons
Executive leadership is clueless as to what is going on in company. The morale is very poor and as the economy gets better I am sure there will be major defections from AECOM. It is evident to everyone that at the top tier there are more than a fair share of individuals that are mediocre at best with only one interest and that is to drive up EPS so their compensation continues to grow. If our clients ever saw the excesses at the executive level that impact our overhead rates they would be appalled. Lastly, the lack of diversity is appalling and while there is a campaign around the issue, there is no culture nor support for leveling the playing field.
