Pros
As an undergraduate at Georgia Tech the knowledge gain was the most valuable of the internship providing experience in Microsoft Products like SQL Server, Azure, Outlook, and Power BI. There was visibility to upper management, clients, and strong collaboration amongst the team and IT. Most delegated deliverables were client focused and had clear direction which allowed me to take ownership of a task in a short period of time. The support I had from my bosses and the experience I had with my coworkers allowed me to grow professionally and truly feel like I made an impact to my clients. As a result of this internship, the exposure to my primary client contact was my client for Industrial Engineering Senior design and AFS continued to support me throughout senior design with providing advice for data architecture. Overall, I could not be more grateful for the team I worked with, the knowledge I gained, and the exposure they provided me.
Last but most important, the Midtown Atlanta Location had amazing perks from food to convenience.
Cons
On board training was primarily video tutorials with little insight of the company innerworkings and I did not receive HR introduction to the company until 8 months in. Other than company lunches, team bonding was marginal.
