Pros

None...insurance is bad (even though the HR department posting as regular employees will lead you to believe they have "the best insurance this side of the mason dixon")...they are lying and they have crap insurance

Cons

Everything. You wake up, you want to go lay in traffic so that you don't have to come to this crap job at this crap company. Depending on which department you are in, you are either going to get yelled at and called dumb by SW, talked about behind your back by KK, or nice to your face and then stabbed in the back by WP and possibly fired because he doesn't like that you had to get up from your desk and take a 4 minute bathroom break or possibly get a drink of water. More Cons: Benefits are awful and not "the best in the area" like they want you to believe. I actually asked multiple friends about their benefits and they are way better than what AFS provides. Let's be honest here, AFS is giving you what they want to pay for and they don't want to pay for much. No structure - Not with pay, not with raises, not with employee treatment. The Culture Team is a joke. What exactly is their job? To take ideas to the owner so he can shoot them down? It is a joke, for 3 years they have "been looking into the issue" Not a thing has been resolved. Got a ping pong table well darnit that just makes being called an idiot by your manager in front of 10 people just all go away. Maybe instead of putting money into a ping pong table you get some decent managers or training for the crap ones you have now. Or maybe some training on how not to give our current and former employees personal information to hackers, I am talking to you JD. This place is a joke. The owner was willing to put employees on the line because he "wanted it all" so he bought bankrupt companies and in turn took on all of their debt. Want a raise? To bad we just paid 3 million to get a company out of debt and then lost all their clients. This place is a joke, don't believe all the good reviews that HR posted to bring their rating up.

AFS Logistics Response
9y
I would like to start off by thanking you for writing your thoughts and experience and hope that this response helps give some insight into some of your concerns. You stated that you worked for AFS more than 10 years, so I imagine you saw leadership change and experienced some of the growing pains. While I cannot confirm the issues you presented from the past, I can offer the big picture of where we are striving to be. Firstly, the insurance premiums for employees have not been increased in three years. Where the company could have increased premiums and/or deduction amounts, we did not. The efforts that are made each year to stay competitive and fair to our employees does not go unnoticed by our team members. Secondly, the HR & Culture team is no joke. We are a new team and are willing and capable of playing an active role in AFS as a business partner. We are working hard and succeeding in gaining our employees trust and continue to work daily to better the organization. To put some tangible results on the table, we are in the final stages of the first ever compensation review that includes market composites for each position in the company, we are developing and will soon be implementing the Career Development Plan that will create a transparent road map of where employees want to go in the organization and giving them the tools of how to get there, and we established the 2017 training program for our employees and managers that will provide the necessary tools to succeed. The last thing I’d like to address is the comment about the reviews on Glassdoor. I hope by me responding to this, and if you read other comments/responses, you’ll see that we don’t only respond to the positive reviews and we surely don’t write them. We ask our employees to share their on-boarding experience after 60 days of employment and to ask for feedback of how we can improve in ALL areas, not just HR & Culture. We also perform exit interviews on all employees that resign to get their feedback. I don’t say all of this to mean brag or say that we are perfect. AFS is not perfect but we are trying and won’t ever give up. I’m truly sorry that you feel the way you do about us but this is a new day for AFS and we are listening.
