A lot.
Management - A team is only as strong as the leader. When the leader is constantly putting you down or playing team members against each other it does not make for a strong team. When a man does the EXACT SAME JOB as a woman gets paid dollars more an hour, when the man has been there half the time that the woman has, that is poor management. I have read over the other reviews and I get that you are "Putting a merit plan into place". Where was that merit plan 30 years ago. It isn't like this is a new company.
HR & Culture - People don't feel safe. AFS has always had a sense of "If I say something I get fired". People did not want to take an anonymous survey because they were afraid it was going to out them and they would lose their jobs. People, including myself, have gone to HR for assistance with an issue only to be told "I will look into it." and followed by "Well I am sure it will blow over". I get what you're trying to do, but when multiple employees come to you with the same issue with the same person and that person does not get any sort of reprimand, but 2 of 8 employees that complained get fired, that shows that someone is failing at that job. I don't know how many are in the HR and Culture group now, I wish you all the best, but you would be at minimum the 12th person to take over that department. Different people, same results.
Pay - Nada. I left, and make double the money with less pressure, better benefits and nobody has yelled or called me stupid once in over 2 years. I can't say that for when I was at AFS. Getting yelled at by management was a constant. Getting talked over, being told that no matter how hard you work, how many Saturdays you come in, no matter how many days you stay late, you were never entitled for a raise. Listening to your supervisor talk about how poorly other coworkers are and they see how hard you are working, then going to other coworker and saying the exact same thing, thus pitting people against each other.
