Pros

I've been working at AHEAD for about 6 months. I can say my experience with company overall is very refreshing. They truly make every employee feel appreciated, and they don't hold back on praise when deserved. Coming from a large IT consulting firm in the mid-west, working for AHEAD has been a complete night and day difference. Get ready to work, because they have not shown any signs of growth slowing. The fact that business is booming so quickly is a sign that they're doing something right. Also with so much growth, there is so much opportunity for employees to keep moving up. They do a lot of hiring from the outside, but there are clear examples of them taking care of their own. There are real examples of employees starting from the bottom and working their way up to director level. Lastly the culture is amazing, I truly feel like I work for a tech company. Management is not afraid to push new technologies. Management encourages their engineers to be engaged with new technologies, often encouraging everyone to contribute to the blog or start their own personal blog.

Cons

With quick growth, there are pains. I've noticed scheduling project work can be complicated when there are so many moving parts and so many project managers competing for resources. I often see project managers scheduling resources to be in one place one day without regard to where the engineer needs to be the next day. But they've already begun to address this issue and I've already seen signs that this should be getting better.

Pros

Going from a toxic employer to AHEAD has been the best change for my happiness. Everyone at AHEAD is motivated, positive, and willing to help each other. I no longer dread logging into work, and even enjoy the days where I have to work a bit longer or go the extra mile, because I know it will be appreciated and I can take the time I need in return. Having unlimited PTO you don't get shamed for using is amazing. I've been supported in my efforts and have a lot of autonomy without micromanagement, which is a great feeling. Upper management really trusts you and trusts in the hire.

Cons

While being in a high-growth company is exciting, it can also be exhausting. Sometimes you need the "rocket ship" to take a beat, but there is no real lull. More company-wide time off would be helpful so that you can get a break where you don't come back to 50+ emails per day. The only other downside is that due to the fabulous employee retention, people stay in their roles for a looong long time. There are not a lot of opportunities for upward mobility as a result, from what I have seen thus far.
