Pros

Well thought out vision of how IT can be holistically implemented and automated, especially focusing on areas customers are currently struggling with.

Cons

My experience with the company was hugely disappointing. I came from an acquisition and our company onboarding was amazing; they wanted everyone to focus on what was core to their job and have sales focus on sales. Despite initial promises of a supportive and inclusive work environment, the reality fell far short of expectations. The company culture was of old-school Dell and fairly toxic. Despite my qualifications and dedication to my role, I constantly felt sidelined and undervalued compared to my counterparts that were part of the original Ahead (non-acquisitions). It felt like we were the red headed stepchild as we were held to the standard of the core company but not provided the resources nor flexibility to bring the new services and vision to our customers. Feedback and concerns felt routinely ignored or dismissed, creating a sense of frustration and disenfranchisement despite putting up good numbers. The company's (lack of) culture made it a challenging and unrewarding place to work. I sincerely hope that AHEAD takes meaningful steps to address these issues and create a more inclusive and respectful environment for all employees in the future.

Work life balance, people, culture

More implementation consulting than strategy. Pay could be better.

Pros

Going from a toxic employer to AHEAD has been the best change for my happiness. Everyone at AHEAD is motivated, positive, and willing to help each other. I no longer dread logging into work, and even enjoy the days where I have to work a bit longer or go the extra mile, because I know it will be appreciated and I can take the time I need in return. Having unlimited PTO you don't get shamed for using is amazing. I've been supported in my efforts and have a lot of autonomy without micromanagement, which is a great feeling. Upper management really trusts you and trusts in the hire.

Cons

While being in a high-growth company is exciting, it can also be exhausting. Sometimes you need the "rocket ship" to take a beat, but there is no real lull. More company-wide time off would be helpful so that you can get a break where you don't come back to 50+ emails per day. The only other downside is that due to the fabulous employee retention, people stay in their roles for a looong long time. There are not a lot of opportunities for upward mobility as a result, from what I have seen thus far.
