They sell loyalty but don’t practice it - Associate Director AIR MILES Employee Review

Pros

Subsidized gym, cafeteria, on the subway

Cons

Loyalty and hard work are rarely reciprocated. At the end of the day, you are a number, a headcount, a salary and loyalty and engagement don't stand a chance. Politics and passive aggressive behavior are normal and accepted MO. Constructive discussions, performance management and coaching are nonexistent. Rather, the executives are busy swapping favors and spend time painting the façade of best employer and most admired culture. The executives need to turn in their badges, starting with the leadership in the HR department where lack of principled conduct, independent thinking, controlling and bully culture have promoted two groups of people - the extremely unhappy ones who turn over (voluntarily or not) and the deadbeat “yes, ma’am” drones who will do anything to get in the good books. If marketing and client services are the brain of the business, HR should be the heart of the organization. Well, this heart stopped beating a long time ago.

Pros

Good benefits Great co-workers Fully remote Lots of fun employee events - got to meet a lot of cool folks at the company through it

Cons

Lots of different roles within the chain of command so different objectives are being passed down Sometimes hard to feel if you're making a difference

AIR MILES Response

Thank you for the positive feedback. Our Associates are at the heart of our strong company culture and are truly what makes AIR MILES such a great place to work! We are glad to hear that you enjoyed the benefits and events offered to our Associates, as well as our remote-first working model. We appreciate your perspective on feeling as though your work makes a difference. We strongly believe that our people are our greatest asset and that the work done at all levels of the organization contributes to our success as a business. During our January Business Update, our Executive team shared our Strategic Imperatives for 2023 and the ways we will continue to scale as an organization to help Associates under the "big picture" and where their role fits in. We also recently introduced a new Goal Setting process to better align with our quarterly planning process, and to encourage more regular conversations about goals between Leaders and Associates. For Associates with questions regarding the impact of their role, we encourage you to speak to your leader or Manager Once Removed for guidance. Thanks again for your feedback, and all the best.
