On October 13, 2021, it was announced that the LoyaltyOne segment of Alliance Data Systems (ADS), which includes AIR MILES, would become its own independent publicly traded company called, Loyalty Ventures Inc. This is not a buy-out but rather a spin-off. This has been in the works for some time and will finally come to fruition on November 8, 2021.
