Pros

- A vibrant and fascinating place to work - The learning curve is incredibly steep however they train you in a way that gives you every opportunity to succeed if you come armed with the right attitude - The organization is generally a flat structure and traders, quants and developers aptitudes and skillets are recognized early in the process and are given ample time to develop - A great motivator of this job is working with incredibly intelligent and driven colleagues who are all pushing to make Akuna a thriving success, which it is already is in its short existence

Cons

As with any company growing as fast as Akuna is, there are obvious growing pains which the organization have to overcome such as available office space and meeting rooms (bring back the ping pong table!! it is dearly missed!!) As the company is relatively young in terms of its competitors, outside sources sometimes believe we are not as tech-savvy and tech-focused as others. This is quite the contrary though as vast resources are allocated to making our proprietary systems the best in the business

Pros

The Training: Still one of the best "Trader 101" programs in the industry. The focus on options theory and market making is rigorous. The People: You’re surrounded by high-IQ quants and devs. Low ego at the junior level. Perks: baristas, great views, and a casual "wear what you want" culture that isn’t just PR.

Cons

Meritocratic (mostly): PnL speaks. If your desk makes money, you’re generally left alone to build. Cons: * Opacity: Bonus calculations and career progression feel like a black box. There’s a noticeable "inner circle" culture at the top. Work-Life Volatility: It’s prop trading, so hours are expected, but the "always-on" expectation for global shifts can be taxing without the commensurate pay bump seen elsewhere.
