Pros

Easy to be hired straight out of your EMT program, Multiple types of positions nationwide (911/IFT), yearly bonuses (not much tho), easy to transfer anywhere in the country, opportunities for deployment when necessary (FEMA, etc.)

Cons

This company is a huge corporation and it shows. They hire anyone and rarely truly fire someone. A lot of their management was just whoever was desperate enough to want the job but wasn't actually qualified so there is so much disconnect and mismanagement. They do not care about you. I have worked here for five years and hated almost all of it. It is a good starting point but one of those places that if you stay, you get stuck and its miserable because everyone is miserable. EVERYONE.

Pros

AMR San Mateo is making huge strides in changing the Old Boy culture of EMS. The operation is collaborative, cares for its employees, and acts with accountability.

Cons

Although it's much better than it was, AMR San Mateo still deals with staffing issues, primarily for medics, and forced mandation is still in play.
