Pros
The people are the only pro for ASRC Federal at this point, and all of the good people are being let go, downsized, overlooked, overworked or mistreated and leaving.
Cons
ZERO cohesion, processes are put in place at corporate by one "shared services" department without ever considering the impact on the contracts, real people or the other departments and now they will coexist with policies. Rules are made for employees and Senior management is horrible at communicating the procedures, changes and expectations to offsites. There is no follow up on items brought to attention of management about violations in OSHA, DOT, FMLA, FLSA and even ADA issues. Employees are held responsible for mistakes made in administration of benefits and there is never timely communication of changes. There is so much wrong with this company NOW that is the complete opposite of where the organization started, there is no concern for the employee in general, only the bottom line. "Inupiat Tribal Values" are touted as the culture of this organization and the only thing of value is the green on the money they make. Loyalty isn't rewarded, on the contrary long standing employees withing the organization are often passed up for promotion for outside (usually Lockheed) and nepotistic hires who are then in the positions less than a year. The company is so heavy on upper management now that everything needs a meeting, decisions are never fully carried out, no one group ever has a clear understanding what another is doing and the company has "reorganized" its structure several times in the last several years letting go, losing or alienating all of the people who built it to what it WAS. Pay is far under industry standard, benefits are awful and the work environment terse at best, there is no room for advancement and every "all hands meeting" is met with "who's getting let go of now" attitude. With every contract loss or short fall, the first people to get cut to trim the budget are the ones who actually do the work! . The only positive ASRC still has is a few very wonderful people who are hanging on for hopes of better days or a return to sanity from the shareholders and management.
