Pros
- Fantastic benefits with lots of PTO and several weeks of remote work around holidays and key calendar events. - Generally speaking, most people are pleasant.
Cons
- There are still holdouts from "the bad days" and it's evident the workplace culture is still influenced by them being there. - Too many middle-management positions. Managers start to create imaginary problems so they can justify their job. It was an issue every financial quarter when performance reviews were on the horizon. - Resistant to change. Heard "that's just how we've always done things" many times, when things could be done better or more efficiently. - Drinking culture is VERY bad at the home office. Happy hours where everyone, managers included, are heavily intoxicated was the norm. It's expected that you participate. - Direct managers to entry level staff are often overworked to the point they are incapable of properly training new employees. This creates a "sink or swim" format for success in new hires. You figure it out on your own or you don't. - To the point above: high turnover rates in young staff. There are plenty of people going on one or two decades at the company, but the entry level employees have to be nearing 50% on whether they last a year or two.
