Pros
Energy: Academia is one of the most vibrant companies that I have worked for. There is always a buzz around the office and I feel part of something exciting. Enthusiasm: The MD is passionate and enthusiastic about the company and his door is always open to any member of staff who wants to talk to him. People: There are some great people working here. A good few have worked here for a very long time and to me that's always a sign of a great place to work. Everyone is friendly and approachable and there is a god sense of loyalty and commitment to the business. Development: If you want to develop your career this is a very supportive and encouraging place to be. The management team will listen to you and help to develop a career plan and it's up to you how much you get out of it - the more initiative I have shown the more reward I have been given. Rewards: The company are very generous at rewarding their staff. The Christmas party is always a highlight and there are regular events during the year to celebrate success or to get staff together.
Cons
I would say the location is probably the only con for me as I can't go shopping in my lunch break and there aren't many good places to eat. But on a positive note it means I don't spend as much money in my lunch break!
