Pros

Some projects allow you to work remote on Friday Looks good on a resume You can get a lot of experience in a fairly short time

Cons

If you have a bad manager, no one cares. Hostile workplace? No way to report it. Promotions are completely dependent on "feedback" that managers put into an online tool. Managers are supposed to submit feedback for every person on their team, but nothing happens if they don't and you can't do anything about it. They were also really sketchy while hiring me. They told me I had the job, and that my offer letter would be to me in a few weeks. They kept telling me that it would be sent in two weeks. Then one more month. Then it'd be to me by January. Meanwhile this whole time they're telling me that I would be able to stay in Washington, DC.. Pretty soon I had been waiting for several months and I thought there's no way it could be much longer. I should have gone somewhere else. 8 Months after they told me I "had the job" they finally sent me a list of office options. Of course, none of them were my home where they assured me I would be able to stay. I picked an office 3 hours away from my husband because that was the closest, and they said there weren't any open jobs in Washington, DC. Of course after I joined I found out that they had, in fact, hired new people to start in the Washington, DC area. They also didn't have to wait a year to actually start. Oh, by the way: I'm disabled. Legally I'm supposed to get reasonable accommodations. However, since my disability isn't easy to see (wheelchair, blind, etc) my requests go nowhere. I've been told several times that I would be able to telework once a week so I could have a day to schedule and attend appointments. However, I've never been able to do it without management acting like it was a huge inconvenience or like I just wasn't reliable... even though I get everything done and submitted on time.

Pros

Great way to get experience working with social media companies, learned a lot about politics, news, advertising, social media company, marketing, job postings and tech sales. In the project I was part of I learned a lot about the world. Most of my bosses were genuinely amazing but I did cycle through a good few. You learn a lot about working with fortune 100 clients. The consultants are nice to work with. You get experience training people, working with a wide variety of teams. Pretty good pay for my experience at the time, the hiring team is very nice and the hiring process was easy. Also I was given a therapist due to the nature of the work. Also got an hour of paid wellness, which was nice but I think that just extended the workday by one hour for no real reason. It does feel like important and purposeful work.

Cons

The project I was assigned to was not as traumatic as some other ones thankfully. But you see a lot of things, you see how crazy the world and the internet can be, which in these times can be hard to watch. I didn't get an annual raise.

Pros

There are a lot of pros working for Accenutre. They have great career opportunities, a never ending supply of interesting work, competitive compensation, wonderful benefits, great people, wonderful training programs, a tremendous number of brilliant professionals in their fields ready to help, and great core values.

Cons

This is not an opportunity for those that do not want to work. At Accenture everyone has a load of work to do and often times under very tight customer time lines. It is a challenge that I enjoy but many might find it stressful.
