Pros
The office is pretty nice, and there are free snacks once in a while. Garage parking, which is NICE during the summer months. The results have been going down the drain lately, but I guess the company is more financially stable than a start-up. But you never know, there has been a lot of cost savings on benefits and bonuses lately. There is an office party every second week. You find it fun for some time. But honestly, how professional is it to get drunk in the office? There are a lot of smart and nice people at Accruent. People you really enjoy working with. The problem is that they do not stay very long, and you have to be prepared for that.
Cons
Management is awful. They treat you like a resource. Everyone is scared, as people you worked side by side with are just gone one day, fired for no apparent reason. No one tells you why. People just cease to exist. Scary. Rank is very important at Accruent. If you are not a Director or above, your opinion does not count. The bad thing is that most of the executives have no degrees, or degrees from third tier schools at best. Their management training is from easy to read "management" books that the CEO thinks are cute. Books that no business school would even consider using as they are so basic. Like teaching management from a comic book. Accruent does not pay very well, and I guess you will not find more experienced people for the price they are willing to pay. There is a "mythical" e-team, which are the higher ranking executives. They are treated as gods by all the directors (there are a lot of directors, probably 50 or so) and their word is law. They are seldom visible in the office as they are off having executive pow-wows or fancy "planning" meetings all the time (the finance guys say the bills are brutal). Or maybe they are playing golf. Who knows. They show up once a month or so for a brutally boring all-hands meeting that's mandatory.
