Pros

-Great place to work for right out of college or if you have a degree that precludes you from getting a job in anything worthwhile (i.e. English or Math majors). -Good place to build up experience and resume if you are just starting your career as the company is full of about 90% of people like that (Don't stay longer than 2 years)

Cons

-The company does not value it's people. It is up front in telling you that it pays in the bottom 25% of competitive rates, which is fine if it acted consistently based on that fact. However, the CEO and management seem to think it can pay people unbelievably low salaries and still think it can have a great culture or world class delivery and products, which is laughable. -The benefits are below industry standard, just like the pay. 401k matching is a joke, and most software companies pay for full health insurance, Accruent does not. -They continue to shout about the ever growing EBITDA but never put that money back into the company with more resources to make the products better (they still look like they were developed back around the dot com bust and fail just as often) or give those deserving more money. -There is definitely a clique/popularity structure rooted up and down the chain. Favoritism runs rampant and starts with the CEO and goes down to all parts of the business. If you are not one of the favorites, good luck getting more money or promoted ever. -Half of the Exec team is not qualified to lead the company and is simply there because the CEO likes them.

Thanks for the detailed feedback. You obviously care about Accruent and your teammates or you wouldn't have put so much into the review. Please consider coming and visiting with me about your feedback (if not me, someone you feel comfortable with). You raise some good points, but there are a number of points in the review that we could easily clear up for you. Either way, we'll take the feedback to heart and continue working hard to build a great company. Best regards, Wayne Roberts Chief Operating Officer

Pros

Lots of potential across their portfolio. Standard benefits. OK work/life balance (if you're remote). Very interested in creating a culture of improvement - but not necessarily innovation like you'd expect at a software company (See Cons).

Cons

Parent company is way too involved and tries to run this software company like a hardware company (which is most of their portfolio). Aging tech and design of their product portfolio. There was a very toxic political culture when I was there, but that may have changed. Lots of brain drain over the past few years of their most experience leaders and software engineers. No equity (except for some "high potential" hires and some VPs and above... which creates rifts between the haves, the have nots and management - it's common that a high demand new hire gets equity like AI engineers and data scientists, but their manager does not have equity and has to be able to answer questions about their equity as part of their comp.
