Pros

I guess this is a good company if you do not have any aspirations to learn and develop, but are more interested in collecting a paycheck.

Cons

A lot of people at Accruent have never worked anywhere else. Many have no reference outside Accruent, and believe the hype that the company is "world class" and "market leaders". Wow, are they in for a big surprise when they realize the truth! The management overhead is enormous with 5-6 layers of management in a company with 400-500 employees. It is so many managers that it is ridiculous.

Thanks for the feedback and comments. Please engage with me or someone you trust to get your questions or comments addressed. I am happy to do so at any time. For example, we are a company of 600 now. We constantly look at spans and layers. We are very focused on ensuring manageable spans of control for managers so they can coach and develop people. Within my organization, there is anywhere from 2-6 layers between me and the customer. Not uncommon or even unusual for an organization of our size. We want to be as flat as we can, while still maintaining manageable spans of control. The other way that we stay flat is open door philosophies. I encourage you to avail yourself of that. I conduct town halls, roadshows, one on ones, roundtable lunches, team meetings, All Hands Meetings, etc. I am talking with numerous employees every single day in various formats. So does the rest of the executive team. Again, engage with us and help make us an enduringly great company. We want the help. Best, Wayne Roberts Chief Operating Officer

Pros

Lots of potential across their portfolio. Standard benefits. OK work/life balance (if you're remote). Very interested in creating a culture of improvement - but not necessarily innovation like you'd expect at a software company (See Cons).

Cons

Parent company is way too involved and tries to run this software company like a hardware company (which is most of their portfolio). Aging tech and design of their product portfolio. There was a very toxic political culture when I was there, but that may have changed. Lots of brain drain over the past few years of their most experience leaders and software engineers. No equity (except for some "high potential" hires and some VPs and above... which creates rifts between the haves, the have nots and management - it's common that a high demand new hire gets equity like AI engineers and data scientists, but their manager does not have equity and has to be able to answer questions about their equity as part of their comp.
