Pros

It is hard to list any pros at this point in time. The morale in the Professional Services organization has pretty much hit rock bottom. Many have already left, and most I know are secretly looking

Cons

The execs are using a lot of fancy words; Meritocracy, Talent Strategy, Value Fit, World Class etc. But they do not have a clue how to achieve it. Instead of hiring and keeping experienced people that can help us, the "old guard"; people that has been "surfing a wave" of acquisitions (funded by debt) are feeling threatened and do all they can to push good people out. We are stuck with clueless and scared execs in Services who care more about keeping their paychecks than building the team. Everyday I hear execs badmouthing other departments and talk disparaging about their employees. And, the problem with keeping up the hiring is not because of the growth. (There is almost no organic growth.) It is because people are leaving faster that we can fill the holes. Not where you want to be.

Thanks for taking the time to provide your detailed review. Since I am intimately aware of and involved in all of the areas you mention, I am having some difficulty in reconciling facts with your assertions. It would be far more constructive to be able to address your concerns directly. You know where to find me and I am sincere in the offer to engage and resolve your concerns. Our employee attrition is declining over the last 18 months, our customer retention is up, compensation is up, benefits are increased, training has increased, and on and on. So the words are not just fancy - they are in action and showing results. We conduct 4 different leadership/manager surveys every year (we just finished one). Our response rates are strong and the feedback is positive and improving. And I can ensure you that responses cannot be traced back to individuals. We go out of our way (more than any other company I have every been in) to protect the anonymity of the employee. Again, please engage with us to help build an enduringly great company. Regards, Wayne Roberts Chief Operating Officer

Pros

Lots of potential across their portfolio. Standard benefits. OK work/life balance (if you're remote). Very interested in creating a culture of improvement - but not necessarily innovation like you'd expect at a software company (See Cons).

Cons

Parent company is way too involved and tries to run this software company like a hardware company (which is most of their portfolio). Aging tech and design of their product portfolio. There was a very toxic political culture when I was there, but that may have changed. Lots of brain drain over the past few years of their most experience leaders and software engineers. No equity (except for some "high potential" hires and some VPs and above... which creates rifts between the haves, the have nots and management - it's common that a high demand new hire gets equity like AI engineers and data scientists, but their manager does not have equity and has to be able to answer questions about their equity as part of their comp.
