Pros

-The experience of working with automation systems -The customer relationships made as a road installer, tech and engineer were really great. Seriously loved working with virtually all customers I got to meet along the way. -Several awesome team members to work with despite the toxic culture -Many helpful and genuinely good leaders at the supervisor level, at the time anyway. (cannot say the same for management level - which changed hands frequently)

Cons

-Lack of Transparency from company with customers, regularly put techs on road in difficult position during disputes between the two -Unspoken but deeply embedded, underlying "project crunch culture" where you won't be told above board that you need to work extremely long, hard hours but most of your co-workers will be doing so . Difficult, especially for new people if they want to "fit in" but work normal schedule. -New team members frequently "thrown into projects" . Lead to mistakes and rework a lot -Overall toxic, cynical, deceptive "competition culture" between and amongst the several departments. More than one manager engaging in this directly as well, sadly -Wages just keep getting lower for new integrators & techs over the years (likely an industry wide thing though)
