Long Hours, Low Pay - Unit Manager Acosta Employee Review

Pros

Upper management does not look over your shoulder at all times. As a Unit Manager, I am given the lattitude to run my team as I see fit.

Cons

No "real" time off. A "normal" work week is 85-100 hours. Even when on vacation, there are constant emails, conference calls, etc. and the work week is still 50+ hours. As a member of management, nothing can really be planned due to upper management and corporate going around in circles with directives. In my 36 years in the industry, this is, BY FAR, the lowest paying job I have ever had. As a result of my dissatisfaction, I am taking early retirement just so I can have some time off.

Pros

Excellent, training focused culture. Poised for growth. Respect for human beings is treated as highest priority.

Cons

Leaders doing too much line level work, as a result of growing pains. Leaders tend to get burnt out as they move up.
