Pros

PMA (positive mental attitude) environment Potential good money with good business opportunity Gets you out of your comfort zone if you’re open to growth Either a good stepping stone or a lifetime career

Cons

Expectations are set way too high at start. You’re shown the different “levels” in the business structure that are obtainable but the first few titles you can get are just that...TITLES. No actual increase in pay like they show. Just a title and more headaches. A title is worthless without accommodating pay in my opinion. It all sounds and looks fancy but it really isn’t. Get excited. You’re expected to be okay with a schedule that can change literally the absolute last minute. It can be one thing at night and a completely different thing the following morning with nothing run by you and with no consideration to the fact that maybe you already made plans according to the original schedule. You’re not considered at all really. And if you complain then you’ll probably receive passive aggressive remarks indirectly during a meeting or two about how “leaders don’t care about schedules” or something to make you feel guilty for wanting a life as well. The environment is positive which is great, but the excitement and over positivity is almost naive. I’m supposed to be excited about being around these people practically 24/7 OR be guilted for not showing up to stuff or hanging around the office. I would rather have the latter. If you’re not a “favorite” you’ll get tossed aside. They have actually said In a meeting that they play favorites.

Acquire Response

Dear Sir or Madam, Thank you for your review. We are pleased to see that you had somewhat of a positive experience during your time working with us and we’re so glad you saw the business opportunities we offer here at Acquire. We agree that we set high expectations and hold our employees to a high standard. We also hold ourselves to a high standard, just as our clients hold our company to a high standard. Some would find it discouraging to know their employer consistently had low expectations for them. We do not know of a successful company that would be pleased with a consistently mediocre work performance. If, in fact, an employee chooses to take an alternate career path due to our expectations, we understand that perhaps what we expected of them differed from what the individual expected of themself. We retain a high number of employees who exceed our expectations daily and as they begin seeing professional growth within themselves, they gain the confidence to push even further. If this were not the case, our company would not grow and expand as quickly as it does. As you know, we are a merit based company, so we focus the majority of our time and efforts on the top. Therefore, when it comes to playing favorites, we show favoritism by recognizing and investing in those who consistently hit performance goals and show their eagerness to excel. We cut out politics by not basing our judgement on your level of seniority at Acquire, family name or the university you attended. All of our employees start on an equal playing field by receiving equal amounts of training as well as access to the same learning tools and resources. Acquire does not believe in an “everyone gets a trophy” philosophy, so at a certain time, if one’s performance continues lacking, our focus must be shifted elsewhere. We regularly speak on this in weekly team meetings in order to be completely transparent. Each promotional job title at Acquire brings new responsibilities and new opportunities. Upon an employee receiving a promotion, we offer benefit options such as healthcare coverage and paid time off (PTO). In addition to healthcare and PTO, we frequently provide bonus opportunities as well as bucket list bonuses where we have our employees make a bucket list of life aspirations and we help them attain something on their list. That may be traveling somewhere in the U.S. or going to your favorite band’s concert. Our benefit options should have been communicated to you during your interview process and we sincerely apologize if we failed to properly communicate this. In regards to our work schedule, we work around our clients’ schedules. If a client has a last minute need that conflicts with the original schedule, we must make changes. We completely understand change can be inconvenient at times and while we have to be accommodating to our clients, we also try our best to accommodate the scheduling needs or preferences of our employees. With that said, please keep in mind, we staff between 50-60 people, which can make it difficult to cater to the requests of every employee. We also give each employee two scheduling options to choose from so they can choose the one that better fits their scheduling needs. Recent changes have been made to our work schedule and we are happy to say we now work a 5 day work week as opposed to the occasional 6. While we greatly appreciate your feedback, much of it is based on personal opinion. For example, if something does not excite or motivate you the way it does someone else, it does not make the other person naive. Your advice to management has been discussed with our Directors, who are very thankful for your feedback. Moving forward, our Directors will emphasize their open-door policy even more than they already do so all Acquire employees know they can discuss any concerns they may have during their time of employment. In terms of a live to work vs work to live mentality, perhaps our company’s philosophy on this was either misrepresented or misinterpreted. We work to live, which is one reason we set such high expectations. Maybe if the expectations are set high early on, there won’t be as much working later. Our vetting process consists of 3 separate interviews to not only ensure each potential new hire is given the proper information pertaining to our company, but also allows the applicant ample opportunities to have all of their questions answered. So with all do respect, you had to have been aware of our work schedule and the dynamics of our company prior to accepting our job offer. Again, thank you for your review and we wish you all the best. Kind Regards, Acquire Human Resources Dept.

Pros

The team outings are fun, but that is literally the only pro.

Cons

They lie about what you're doing (selling phones in a Costco or Sam's), berate you, and lie about the hours.
