Pros
The benefits plan is good. And if you can negotiate a great base pay, you will be satisfied (because year over year Sr. Mgmt. find reasons to allow no merit increases). Many of the employees have been with the company for over 10-years. And many people come back after leaving. Yet these are usually the most disgruntled employees because they have seen nothing change for the better during their tenure with the company. Though mid-level management has instituted new technology for sales reporting, if you are selling over your sales goals, they won't get on your case about doing things the way you've always done them.
Cons
Sr. Mgmt works for an investment firm. There are few decisions made for the sake of the customer or the business health - all decisions made are short term profit centered and do not consider the customer or employee moral blow-back that has haunted this company since the business was sold. (Formerly TRIAD) Though the company boasts a large percentage of tenured employees, there is very little knowledge sharing and each department operates in it's own "box." It is difficult to find answers about products within the company and there is little opportunity to advance within the company. Politics are heavy. There are few employees that have authority to make decisions without Sr. Mgmt involvement.
