Pros

Interesting industry, strong growth trajectory and investors

Cons

AcuityMD engineering/product organization has significant culture issues. Turnover is high- the culture feels unnecessarily cutthroat, coaching is weak, and the high level of involuntary turnover significantly impacts morale. Performance and promotion criteria completely lack transparency. I know of multiple high performers, who deliver for the business & customers, who have not been promoted or rewarded- and have already quit or are on the verge of quitting. The firm has already lost exceptional talent because they were not recognized. It seems like promotions are given to those who fit the "mold" rather than merit.

Pros

I've had a great experience working at AcuityMD. The mission is meaningful, and it's rewarding to work on a product that helps accelerate patient access to medical technologies. The company is backed by strong investors and continues to grow, which creates a lot of opportunities to take on new challenges and develop your career. One of the biggest highlights is the people. Everyone is collaborative, supportive, and genuinely cares about helping each other succeed. I've also really enjoyed the company offsites. They're thoughtfully planned and provide a great opportunity to connect with teammates across the organization.

Cons

Like most startups, priorities can shift quickly, so it's important to be adaptable and comfortable with change. Work-life balance can occasionally be challenging during particularly busy periods, and I'd love to see a 401(k) match added as the company continues to grow.

Pros

AcuityMD operates in an interesting space at the intersection of healthcare and commercial intelligence, and there is meaningful opportunity to drive impact through data and analytics.

Cons

Career growth and promotion decisions lacked fairness and transparency. In my experience, a male colleague with less experience and significantly less tenure was promoted over me, despite my demonstrated impact and performance in the role. This raised serious concerns about how advancement decisions are made and whether they are applied equitably across the organization. It was difficult to understand what actually drives progression, and there did not appear to be consistent or objective criteria. Over time, this created a lack of trust in leadership and made it challenging to see a clear or fair path for growth within the company. There were also challenges with prioritization and execution, where high-impact operational initiatives were often deprioritized in favor of short-term or lower-value work, limiting the company’s ability to scale effectively.
