Pros

- Very smart co-workers - Interesting projects - Monthly lunches - Limited fruit twice a week - Great parking lot

Cons

- Other reviews are correct, the benefits are very poor here. People have to fight for fruit and snacks every week. If you happen to be in a meeting when the snacks, fruit, or any kind of food comes out, tough luck. - Unbalanced workload. If you are in a senior position, you will have a heavy workload. Work is not evenly distributed and taking time to update or improve a processes is not prioritized. - Limited shuttle from the Bart station. If you try to come in early or stay at work past 6pm, you effectively do not have a ride to the Bart Station. - HR does not take feedback very well. Observing their response to these reviews are a great example. Some of these reviews are very specific about the issue yet HR requests for the reviewer to talk to them in person. It seems like HR rather focus on who is unhappy than resolving the issue for everyone. - HR updates policy or change benefits without broadcasting to the employees. It is very hard to find any relevant information. For example, employee bonus policy or 4 year PTO bonus policy is unclear. Unless you know someone that has the email from that one time HR sent it out years ago, it will be very hard to figure out what the surrounding policy is. - You do not get Veteren's Day or MLK day off.

Hello, Thank you for your review. I am very sorry your experience with Acumen has been so unsatisfying. I can say that HR does welcome feedback but anonymous feedback is difficult to take action on. Not all employees feel the same way as the commentators on Glassdoor. The company now has an annual release of all policy updates to employees. In addition, all information can be found on our internal portal available to all employees. Please feel free to ask if there is anything you still have questions about. We take all feedback seriously and consider all suggestions and recommendations.

Pros

- The work is intellectually engaging and gave me many chances to grow technically. - I learned a lot from talented coworkers and appreciated being part of projects with real-world relevance. - There was also good exposure to translating technical work into clear, usable takeaways.

Cons

- The work can be intense and detail-heavy, and deadlines can sometimes feel demanding. - Priorities may shift quickly, which can make it hard to plan ahead. - At times, the volume of revisions and fast pace can be stressful.

Pros

You will work with some really nice and lovely people. That is the only pro I can say about this chaotic and disorganized company (this is the most professional way I can describe this company, but know I would like to use much harsher language).

Cons

- Management is disorganized and ineffective. You would think that after 30 years, they would have established systems to avoid negative financial situations. - The C-suite doesn't care about employees; their main focus is on ensuring they and their friends make money. - There are practically no incentives to work here. You will never receive a pay raise, you won't get a meaningful promotion, and you will constantly find yourself doing the work of entry-level employees. - Following two major layoffs within two years, the company made minimal changes to improve its poor financial status. They continue to employ some of the least effective and most costly employees, simply hoping that things will improve. That's not how business operates, but it seems to be the mentality since they predominantly hire their friends.
