toxic leadership and lots of favoritism - professional advancement and work satisfaction are tied to how well you are liked by upper management. bad staff who are favored by upper management are protected and criticism about said bad staff is ignored by upper management. Leadership plays games with your head and makes you feel responsible for program issues when it's the management who is responsible for oversight. I was told I couldn't take any time off unless I hit my productivity targets and that I need to work over my productivity targets to earn time off.
