Pros

If you live to work, then this is the place to be. Compensation is okay but being cut so essentially you're earning less as Affirm cuts more and more benefits to bump their stock.

Cons

If you work to live, this is not it. Each person has the work load of 2-3 people. Management is hypocritical and contradictory to themselves. Frequently the opposite of what they tell us to do. Development is commonly extremely broken and muddy. The company is hitting the runway without maintenance and falling apart while management is whipping the engineers trying to keep it together. Roles does not matter at this company. Staff engineers contributing to code. Engineer L1s designing systems and leading projects without compensation with the excuse of pushing the team to go beyond their role when not everyone wants to. And I want to, which says a lot.

Pros

Supportive team, great benefits and transparent leadership.

Cons

Role can be specific which may prevent you from working on other areas / with other teams as easily.

Pros

Affirm has a lot of talented engineers and high impact, interesting products to work on. The company is remote first and I traveled abroad for a few weeks a year while working.

Cons

Most of the projects were under tight deadlines which put a lot of stress on the engineers. Management didn't really understand what was required of engineers for many of the projects which made it difficult for them to communicate the team's needs upward. My team was short staffed for senior and staff engineers so techincal leadership was also lacking.
