Pros

I was hired "on the spot" with no professional questions asked during an interview. After a brief meeting they said: "we like your good personality, you'll be a very successful agent".

Cons

The NY/NJ/CT/PA area is saturated with Aflac agents, extremely difficult to sell their products because they are expensive; also, every time you call on business they get annoyed saying: "we just spoke with Aflac agent and told them to remove us from the list." Agents don't know if this business was called on before, or if somebody is working on this account. Even if you call on business 50 miles from your office you'll get the same response. Agents behave very "unethical" toward each in order to get an account. It seems all positive reviews are written by managers or senior agents.

Pros

Freedom to be your own boss, trips, bonuses, renewable income (instead of one time commission), career instead of just a job. FORTUNE 500 and a World's most Ethical Company. Great training (at least here in Wyoming) and a family mentality. Great family/work balance.

Cons

No base pay, can be a slow start at first, you have to be very organized and self-driven, have to be licensed in life and health to sell insurance (but my management help with the process).
