Pros

Pay Benefits Uniforms Training Mileage is at Gov Rates

Cons

Hired as a base mechanic, after I got in, they started loading up my plate at another base to work there. Then another base, then... repeat repeat repeat... Their new employee training is all about RAMCO - which you will be expected to know how to use 100% in one week. It was so confusing and stressful Management is bullying and militaristic style... do as your told.. You have to have your own calibrated tools They still use paper logbooks in addition to RAMCO - more work for the AMT. Very disorganized infrastructure Medical people are managers over AMT's who have no clue what they are doing Shoot from the hip maintenance management - nothing really planned out. I got called the night before on multiple occasions to be at another location half way across the state in the morning. Hangers are in disarray and lacking organization Good ol' boy system. I was required to show up at another bases at 7 and work til 5, but the lead and other "buddy" mechanic wouldn't show up until 9 and leave at 3. Leaving us new guys to do all the work. Poor communication from leads/managers to subordinates; the method of conveyance was texting... really? texting...? grow up Air methods. And yelling over the phone, barking orders. When things go downhill, It's shoved off on the AMT who gets the blame. They are too worried about their "Image" They say they care, but are quick to punish and penalize people if they make a mistake. Too much requirements for the pay. Too stressful Overall, NOT a very professional organization

Pros

Only pro was the hiring process which consisted of two interviews and then an offer. That should have been the first red flag.

Cons

Private Equity controlled organization. No onboarding process or training provided. You are sent to their HQ for two days of learning how to turn your computer on and how to open a couple of computer applications. They are looking for a zero to hero hire. Be prepared. Tumultuous with lots of turnover. Was told this was a career-long role and in a couple of short months, the CEO was fired, the VP of sales took off. New executive leadership team created an environment of fear and layoffs. Lots of huge egos and very little tolerance for questioning poor business decisions and strategies. No attention given to the voice of the customer and what would strategically help move the needle. It really gives off the odor of a company trying to be sold.
