Everything is wrong with this place. You work a rotating 12 hour schedule where you are basically working 60 hours one week and 24 the next, and you are on call various days throughout the month as well. Not to mention the "mandatory" meetings that you are required to attend in addition to an already demanding schedule. Truly, this job should not exist outside of a hospital. Patients lives are at stake and when it gets busy, the workload is many times too much for one person to handle, but everyone else is so busy that you are on your own. Things inevitably get placed on the back burner that need to be addressed quickly, and then you get dinged for it. You are typically trained in one area, but expected to take calls for all areas even when you do not know their protocols. How is this safe when a patients life is on the line? The stress is unreal. This just proves this company only cares about the bottom line. Favoritism and clicks run rampant here like a junior high school. When you are working here, you are this companies lowest priority. I really hope that more hospitals across the country start having their transfer centers in house so this place can be shut down.
