Pros
None at this time. They're probably OK for someone starting out or working the retail counter, but if you're a skilled worker/tradesman looking for a good career, run away! Pretty much anything else is better.
Cons
Beware if you are a skilled worker considering a position at an AirGas legacy Air Liquide site. Air Liquide bought AirGas and dumped over a thousand AL employees into AirGas. Morale at these AL sites is absolutely terrible, beyond bad. We've had our benefits slashed to the bone, lost long time, excellent colleagues, and are now just waiting for the other shoe to drop. It's obvious now that AirGas plans to get rid of as many of us as they can because the average AL employee makes a lot more than the average AG worker. Some sites are downright dangerous because the new hires don't even know basic safety rules. Contempt and loathing towards upper AirGas management is the rule, even among lower and middle management, as all they do is spin, lie, and treat us like children. There is talk of unionizing. There is a palpable atmosphere of fear, resentment, and loathing towards AirGas, and betrayal towards Air Liquide. I'm not exaggerating. These are widespread toxic feelings at every site, even affecting new hires who don't know how much better Air Liquide was.
