You're Expendable - Billing Specialist Airgas Employee Review

There is virtually no diversity in the company, and they don't seem to want any...black employees especially are generally run off soon after they are hired. There are hardly any advancement opportunities for women, and the culture is very "good ol' boy," to include a vast array of sexist comments and jokes. Everyone is expendable, except the overpaid management. When Covid hit, the company quickly and coldly let go many long-time, front line employees -- they made no effort to try to retain them through furloughs. It was a disgustingly obvious move to cut out the salaries of long-term workers while leaving the overpaid, do-nothing mid-management positions intact. Even though the company sells PPE, when the pandemic hit they wouldn't allow employees to purchase anything for personal use -- they actually told workers to use WASHCLOTHS as masks rather than selling or providing them with the masks that Airgas sells every day (industrial masks, not medical grade masks). Raises have no connection whatsoever to annual performance reviews...everyone gets the same minimal raise that does not keep pace with the cost of living, no matter if they're fantastic or awful employees.
