Pros
The package gas industry is recession-proof, and can be highly profitable. Thus, there is excellent potential for job security and longevity. Training and safety are strongly emphasized at the plant level, and capital is available to support best practice on the shop floor.
Cons
Local culture and corporate culture do not always integrate seamlessly. The rapid absorption of so many small businesses makes it difficult to align the best practices of Airgas with the operational model of the individual businesses.
