Pros

Urban Airship has seen a lot of change in the last two years and it's finally paying off. We have new product lines that are growing more than 100% per year, we dominate the push market and are expanding into web, channels, and data quickly. The team is talented and they challenge each other, above average smarts and diligence brings out my "A" game. Management has been more consistent about cutting weak performers so I can look around and no longer wonder "why is that guy still here?" There's a good work life balance. The office and Slack channels empty out around 530pm and earlier on Fridays - and it's pretty common to get a beer with coworkers at the office (kegs on-site, too). Most people eat with their team at the free Wednesday lunch - which is cool. The customers are amazing and almost unbelievable - the top companies in every industry.

Cons

There's a lot of work and you have to be very good at prioritizing or you'll drown. Management doesn't spoon-feed tasks so you often have to figure things out independently. Sometimes that's good, sometimes it's chaotic. The departments are very siloed for a company of this size, so decisions/action can move too slowly when multiple teams are involved.

Pros

Airship has a good foundation, solid product, and some very smart people in various areas of the company. They have done a good job navigating some tough times during my time there and are still standing.

Cons

The company doesn't communicate that well from ELT down to the ground level. They lack any type of direction when it comes to their commitment to Inclusivity, and they don't have any people of color in ELT or even VP levels to speak of. There is also a huge overreliance on a handful of Engineers who people seem to think will just be there forever since they already have been there forever.
