Pros

I've had a challenging and generally fulfilling time across multiple roles at Airwallex over the last 2 years. The commercial team is highly collaborative and results-oriented, with a top-tier and dynamic team. There’s a real sense of ownership - leadership trusts us to drive initiatives forward and welcomes new ideas, which makes a big difference (though strategy is often more top-down than bottom-up). I appreciate the rapid pace, and it’s rewarding to see our collective work translate into real results across the region. They like promoting and finding opportunities internally for team members who are succeeding in current roles. Lots of white space to grow into.

Cons

The same energy and ambition that power our growth can also create unpredictability. Priorities shift quickly, and sometimes resources feel stretched as we chase ambitious targets. My teams often bridge multiple teams and regions, so communication gaps can crop up, and aligning stakeholders takes patience. There can be long hours especially around launches or restructuring. If you thrive on structure and routine, the constant change can feel overwhelming. Still, for those who value impact and adaptability, the experience overall is well worth it and there are many more opportunities to come.

Pros

Love the incredibly fast pace and the massive growth -- very few companies are scaling at 80% YoY at a scale of >$1bn ARR, The leadership team and technical talent are brilliant.

Cons

Here in San Francisco, the company's still very much in a Series A stage-- that can be a good or bad thing depending on your perspective. You just have to be willing to be scrapping and work hard.

Pros

High autonomy and agency. As a senior IC I have leadership's trust in driving my work, engaging with partner executives and generating new ideas and partnerships. Clear line of sight into how my work positively impacts the company. I can draw the line between my effort and that enabling a small or large part of our success. Diverse product and partner work. I work with large and small partners and across our entire product offering, which keeps my day to day fresh and diverse. Great people, all hard working, smart and well credentialed.

Cons

Global team makes for frequent night time calls, if something can't be handled over Slack. Hard driving. There's lots to do and big ambitions, so everyone is spread thin working on high priority/impact projects.
