Pros
The patient's and families that we try to help.
Cons
The company is heavy on MBAs and management. The company does not value the efforts of their employees during covid and has shamed those who became ill by pointing fingers in video updates that blame the ill for becoming ill. There have been 3 employees directly bullied by local management to the point where they unlimately resigned or were fired for reasons not of the employee's own doing. The cost of benefits are crippling to the employee. The company does not give their employees any breaks on the cost of care for the employee's own children. PTO is taken for every acknowledged holiday. PTO must be earned based on hours per week worked. Should the company be compelled to close a department early for any reason, employees PTO is taken for the hours they leave early, or the employee must stay for the entire shift regardless of work available. Sick employees are disciplined for a call off. When asked for essential equipment to avoid exposure during covid, the budget would not allow, until someone became ill, then the 25 dollar item was purchased. Employees were shamed. It all boils down to numbers and profit. During covid, new offices are being reconstructed and furnished but employees were told mid semester that education assistance was being cut. There is greed and or idiocy at the core of the leadership at akron childrens that trickles down through management at lower levels. Doctors, nurses, secretarial, technicians, and others are disgusted at the backburner attitudes given when quality and consistency in patient care are fought for. Akron has a monopoly, and they know it.
